Yahoo! Improves Web Indexing With Slurp 3.0

Yahoo! on Monday announced the launch of their latest version of the Yahoo! Search crawler Slurp 3.0, with some infrastructure updates.

"With everything now in place, the rollout has officially begun. The new Yahoo! Slurp 3.0 recognizes the same user-agent and all robots.txt directives for 'Yahoo! Slurp,' though it'll identify itself as Slurp 3.0 in your web logs.", says the Yahoo! seach blog.

Web indexing softwares, sometimes called bots, crawlers, or spiders are basically softwares that are used by major search engines to scan the contents of all the websites.

So better the indexing software, better the search engine.

Is Slurp 3.0 is going to be better than the Google, only future holds the answer.
