Microsoft and Yahoo! Second Merger Meeting a Failure

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that, Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. senior executives met again this week to discuss Microsoft's proposal to acquire the Internet company.

But the meeting failed to resolve any of their differences, according to people familiar with the matter.

There are rumors that Yahoo! is insisting Microsoft to raise its bid before the companies enter formal negotiations, which Microsoft politely refused.

The meeting, which took place near Yahoo headquarters in Sunnyvale, was the second meeting between top executives from the two companies in recent weeks.
