Yahoo’s Fire Eagle launched in Private Beta

Imagine an application that track your physical location and show that in an embedded map.

That's what Yahoo's! Fire Eagle promises.

Yahoo! made an impressive beta launch of its Fire Eagle service today.

According to TechCrunch Fire Eagle will act as something like "Twitter for location". The application will stream the location information of users similar to how Twitter streams short messages.

If you are not comfortable being public, don't panic.

Users have the option to hide themselves with a single click and they can click to purge all their data from the Fire Eagle databases.
