Microsoft StartKey - A ‘Windows Companion’ on a USB Stick

Microsoft is working on a new product known as StartKey that will allow users to carry their Windows and Windows Live settings in their flash-storage devices like SD cards or even their USB sticks.

Microsoft StartKey will put your entire Windows desktop on a USB Flash drive including the software programs, files and settings, so that you can plug it to any PC and use it as if your personal computer.

So in effect, you PC becomes mobile, i.e. you can carry your PC wherever you go.

It is likely to launched only by the end of this year, says ZDNet.
